Rebecca Knorr
Rebecca is one of Scotland’s most respected flute players and composers of traditional music. Her compositions have been recorded by the Tannahill Weavers and Tony McManus and she has toured extensively in Europe with many of Scotland and Ireland’s foremost musicians, including Christy O’Leary and Dougie MacLean.
With her comprehensive knowledge of different flute styles, she was chosen to create the syllabus for the wooden flute degree course in Scottish music at the RSAMD. She continues to teach both flute and whistle to children and adults at schools, evening classes, workshops and one to one.
Rebecca’s rhythmic, lyrical style blends beautifully with fiddle and guitar to help make that unique Islander sound.
